I am Black.
I am black
‘Coloured’ they say
But he made me this way
It is so wonderful
To have a skin that is so beautiful
There is nothing wrong with being ‘colored’
No need to feel awkward
I take pride in being African
I wouldn’t trade for anything to be European
My language, my art, O Africa you are in my heart
To you I was born, you are the beauty I have known
I believe there is beauty in diversity
And we learn great wisdom in simplicity
Black skin, white skin, dark skin, light skin
Appearance doesn’t matter as much as what is within
The beauty of human kind lies in the heart
The ability to be compassionate, on others life to impart
The beauty of human kind lies in the heart
The ability to be compassionate, on others life to impart
Being able and willing to care for the disadvantaged
For the wealth we gain on earth is a privilege
For man came from the dust
And to the dust he shall return
He is a steward of the good things that spring forth from the land
He has the whole world in the palm of his hand
Whether black, or white
Dark or light
Not only am I human
But I am an extension of love to human souls.

i love the lines on beauty in diversity and wisdom in simplicity.
